FLIP YOUR DOG FOR MENTAL HEALTH
what's
our
story
Flip Your Dog For Mental Health was founded by Hackney based TV director / yoga teacher in training Vaughan Dagnell during the UK's first Covid-19 lockdown.
Initially run as a one day charity, yoga and meditation fundraiser for Mental Health Awareness Week in May 2020, the positive response from East London's wellbeing community led to setting up a rolling schedule of live on line charity classes that launched in July.
A social media baptism of fire as well as the support of fantastic studios and teachers including Caroline Lyons (aka Happytoes Yoga) has seen word spread and led to collaborations with teachers from around the country, with more on the horizon.
Joined by studio's including More Yoga, Fierce Grace and Ground Studio London, our Homelessness Awareness Week Campaign in aid of Centrepoint in October 2020 took our total funds raised in support of Mental Health support services to £3.75k. As of March 2021 we have raised over £5.2k.
Having road tested this exciting loop of positive energy as a fundraising mechanism, and with exciting partnerships for workplace workshops as well as outreach work developing, FYD4MH have recently set up as a Community Interest Company.
We believe in an inclusive and collective approach to supporting one another and sharing resources around mental health. We are passionate about co creating a future where equality, wellbeing and mental health are at the heart of our society, and we're always on the look out for partnerships and facilitators to work with as this exciting initiative evolves.
